I have become a very lazy young woman nowadays. Today, I woke up barely able to pry myself out of bed. Maybe if my room didn’t feel like a meat locker, this wouldn’t be such an incredibly difficult task. Since when did waking up around 10am become an issue? Guess this is something that I’ma have to work on. Today, I start the year off right, by enjoying my sweet addiction to Starbucks. It has become routine for my good friend Rachel and I to have coffee once a week.
In case you failed to notice, YES.a. that is a spoon in my drink. I had my wisdom teeth pulled a few days prior and was afraid that using a straw would cause bleeding. Let me tell you, that eating your coffee with a spoon makes it lose all pleasure and appeal. I know you’re asking yourself “why do I care”, a better question is why wouldn’t you?).

Tonight was an adventure to say the least. Randomly around 9pm, I received a text message from my bestie friend Alex asking me to take him to the emergency room in Ventura. Like any good friend would I said yes. Its a funny thing, that no matter where Alex and I are…. we laugh. Even though I’m sure the ER waiting room is not the place to giggle. Never mind that Alex had fever of 103 and a headache like nobody’s business.
Most normal people find sitting in a waiting room to be a less than pleasurable experience. I guess waiting for an extended period of time with a bunch of sick strangers, isn’t much fun. But hey, Alex and I are FAR from normals. To us it was three hours of ridiculously inappropriate jokes, s**t talking, and checking out a certain supa sensual police officer. I was debating doing something illegal, so that mr hot cop could put me in some cuffs!

Sooo.. have you ever had a childhood dream that was crushed due to the circumstances of life at the time. Yeah, me too!! When I was a kid, I wanted to be an Olympic figure skater. But realizing your “dream” at age 9 means you are YEARS to late to the Olympic “game” as it were. And growing up in the desert, doesn’t exactly make it easy to gain access to large spaces of ice. Today, Miss Rachel and I went figure skating because we are both 5 years old at heart. We were going to go to the “holiday” rink set up in thousand oaks, but that one was crowded. So we found one in Simi Valley, it actually rather large but i had no idea that it even existed.
My first few steps on the ice were just as you could imagine. Slow, awkward, and almost goofy. But to my surprise, I soon realized that I was actually quite good on the ice. I don’t know if this was do to my numerous years of quad skating or I just have a miss guided view of how difficult skating on ice actually is. ** Begin Random Tangent** Although the desert I lived in (a lil place called Victorville) didn’t have an ice rink. We did have a roller rink, which is where I learned to skate on quads. And I’m not just talking about speed skating, but that old fashioned rollin to da beat. **End Random Tangent**. Either way, I’m really glad that along with coffee, ice skating will be apart of our routine. I guess my dream of being an Olympian won’t be realized but I will start a hobby that I can enjoy. And hopefully benefit me in the future.
Welcome to the year 2012! This year I expect only great things. For example, instead of getting drunk and waking up with a hang over. I decided to just kick it with my auntie and drink ice cold pepsi. This year, I live a life of beauty, happiness and fulfillment. And thats not a resolution because no one ever goes through with those empty promises. I live for the present. The past is behind me and the future isn’t promised. It’s about to be one crazy ride, who wants to come along?
